# Morse Messenger > Private messaging without a phone number. Morse Messenger is an end-to-end encrypted messenger that needs no phone number, no email address and no SIM card. Morse Messenger (also called Morse) is a private messenger for complete everyday conversations without phone-number identity, advertising, public discovery, or behavioral profiling. People create an account without a phone number or email, connect intentionally using a Morse ID, QR code, or invitation, and choose what approved contacts can see. Key facts: - Available for iPhone on the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/morse-private-messenger/id6758036708). The Android app is coming soon. There is no web or desktop version. - No phone number or email address is required to create an account. - No SIM card or mobile plan is needed. Morse works on Wi-Fi alone: an internet connection is enough. - Every account has a Morse ID, a short identifier that people share to connect. Contacts are added intentionally with a Morse ID, QR code, or invitation, and the other person accepts the request before a conversation begins. - Morse does not upload the phone's address book and has no public user directory. - Profiles are optional and encrypted, and are shared only with approved contacts. - End-to-end encrypted one-to-one and group messages, photos, videos, voice messages, stickers, locations, polls, quizzes, and checklists. - End-to-end encrypted one-to-one voice and video calls, which work over Wi-Fi. - Encryption is based on the Signal Protocol, with post-quantum key exchange (ML-KEM). Morse servers relay encrypted delivery data and cannot read conversation content. Encrypted media is hosted temporarily for delivery. - Disappearing messages remove messages automatically after a timer the user chooses. - Groups are private, with roles and permissions, and are not listed in any public directory. - App lock with a PIN and biometrics. The PIN cannot be recovered, by design. If it is forgotten, a new account must be created. - No advertising and no behavioral profiling. Morse is not a social network: no feed, no follower counts, no public channels, and no required public profile. - Independent, and funded by the people who use it through a yearly subscription. - The app and the website are available in 19 languages: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Arabic, Indonesian, Hindi, Persian, Urdu, and Bengali. Pricing: - 19.99 USD per year in the United States, about 1.67 USD per month. Prices are set per country, for example 22.99 EUR where prices are in euros. - There is no free tier and no advertising. - Paid as an in-app subscription through the App Store, or with an activation code bought on the website. - One subscription or activation code covers one person for one year. Activation codes never expire and can be redeemed at any time. - One subscription is tied to one Morse ID. ## Product - [Morse Messenger](https://www.joinmorse.com): Home page with an overview of the app, its features, pricing and common questions. - [What is Morse Messenger](https://www.joinmorse.com/what): What the app is and what it can do, from messages and media to calls. - [Why Morse Messenger exists](https://www.joinmorse.com/why): Why a private conversation should not require a phone number, a public profile or ads. - [How Morse Messenger works](https://www.joinmorse.com/how): Creating an account, sharing a Morse ID or QR code, and starting an encrypted conversation, step by step. - [Download](https://www.joinmorse.com/download): Morse Messenger for iPhone on the App Store.
